DAMAC Properties, a leading luxury real estate developer in the region, yesterday received marks of excellence from Gulf Real Estate Awards 2017 in its inaugural edition, an event that was launched by Dubai Land Department to recognise and reward excellence in the real estate sector across the region. His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department, presented the awards to DAMAC Properties and its owners association management firm, honouring them in front of nearly 300 real estate leaders at the largest, most prestigious real estate gathering in the region.
At the awards ceremony held at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, DAMAC Hills, a 42-million- square-foot flagship integrated golf community project, was recognised as the “Best Real Estate Project – Master Development.” When completed, the master community will house over 4,000 luxury villas and 7,500 condominiums in addition to hospitality, luxury shopping, spa and wellness facilities and leisure, along with food and beverage components. It is also home to exclusive branded developments such as DAMAC Villas by Paramount, FENDI villas as well as the Trump International Golf Club Dubai, an 18-hole championship golf course which recently opened to provide a true lifestyle choice for golfers and non-golfers alike. To date, more than 2,000 units including villas and apartments have been delivered.
In addition, Luxury Owners Association Management Services (LOAMS), one of DAMAC’s facilities management arms, scooped the “Best Owners Association Management Firm” award. LOAMS mission is to enhance the desirability and value of the community by serving its stakeholders including homeowners, RERA, relevant authorities, directors, committees, and service providers through an integrated, effective and efficient operation that sets a new market standard in association management.
Commenting on the double-winning, Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, DAMAC Properties said: “We are extremely delighted with the recognition at the Gulf Real Estate Awards 2017. It is leading industry awards like these that are testament to our continuous success and drive for best practice and excellence and this incredible achievement reaffirms our pioneering role in luxury real estate development as well as community management.”
DAMAC Properties were up against the Gulf region’s finest real estate organisations, competing for a total of 21 awards. Over 100 nominations from four different GCC countries were reviewed and shortlisted finalists presented their submissions in person to a panel of judges, comprised of industry experts. The unique judging process ensured transparency, with the open presentation sessions of the finalists providing the opportunity to have rare insight into how the industry’s finest are achieving success and driving innovation.
Mark Hamill, Managing Director of Awards International UAE, said: “Having a fully transparent awards process is essential for all our events – knowing you’ve beaten the best on merit alone does wonders for individuals and companies. Along with their award, our winners take home huge amounts of credibility when you take into account the high volume and quality of entries we received.”
Launched by the Dubai Land Department, the first edition of Gulf Real Estate Awards honoured organisations with a success story; from large private and public companies through to thriving entrepreneurial businesses, promising start-ups and established SMEs. The Gulf Real Estate Awards ceremony was attended by business leaders, entrepreneurs, developers, bankers, investors and other professionals, offering a unique opportunity to network, exchange ideas and celebrate with the region’s top business leaders.
